The Life

Antonieto Dumagan Cabajog was born on May 10, 1956, in Cebu City, to Fortunato 'Tantoy' Cabajog of Botoc, Loay, Bohol, and Agripina 'Fannie' Dumagan of Santa Felomina, Alburquerque, Bohol; he grew up in Botoc, Loay, and his sister Madelon Cabajog Blanes is a doctor of medicine. His formation and early ministry, as far as the record goes, rest on Wikipedia alone and are flagged as such: Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Tagbilaran from 1969 to 1973; philosophy at the University of Santo Tomas from 1973 to 1977, theology there from 1977 to 1980, and canon law there from 1980 to 1981, followed by canon law at the Angelicum in Rome from 1983 to 1986, with a doctorate in canon law; spiritual director and professor at Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary; secretary to the bishop from 1986 to 1990; diocesan economus and chancellor from 1988 to 1990; CBCP assistant treasurer from 1990 to 1993, assistant secretary general from 1990 to 1994, and acting treasurer from 1993 to 1994; judicial vicar in 1994; parish priest of St. Augustine in Panglao from 1996 to 1997; and parish priest of the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Worker in Tagbilaran from 1997 to 1999. He was ordained a priest on April 9, 1981, at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Loay, Bohol; the ordaining bishop, Onesimo Cadiz Gordoncillo, is Wikipedia-only and is not shipped. He is often called 'Bishop Yiet' or 'Monsignor Yiet', again Wikipedia-only, and no motto for him was found anywhere, so none is shipped.

He was elected auxiliary bishop of Cebu on January 13, 1999, and consecrated on March 16, 1999. Wikipedia's infobox conflates the two, giving 'Consecration 13 January 1999 by Ricardo Vidal'; GCatholic's 1999 newly-elected list, opened first-hand, resolves it with elected 1999.01.13 and consecrated 1999.03.16, and the body text of his Wikipedia page agrees on March 16. No titular see is named in any source seen, so none is invented, and the consecration venue and principal consecrator are Wikipedia-only and are not shipped. On April 21, 2001, he was appointed Bishop of Surigao, succeeding Miguel C. Cinches, S.V.D., and he took possession on July 24, 2001, matching the roster row. The April 21 appointment date rests on the Wikipedia ordinaries table for Surigao alone, which runs Cinches to April 21, 2001, and Cabajog from April 21, 2001; the same page's text says he was 'appointed on July 24, 2001', citing UCA News, which is the same appointment-possession conflation as the January 13 infobox error, and the UCA News profile URL was not recovered. The dossier codes the transfer on the appointment-then-installation reading, flagged, rather than dropping the auxiliary tenure. Surigao covers Surigao del Norte and the Dinagat Islands, with its cathedral at St. Nicholas of Tolentino in Surigao City. As a bishop he co-consecrated Crispin Varquez on October 18, 2007, in Tagbilaran, with Leonardo Medroso as principal and Jose Palma as the other co-consecrator, per the Dominus Est Varquez profile, which also confirms Varquez's November 8, 2007 installation at Borongan.

In the window, no governing act of his own concerning the 1962 Missal was found. His window record is a disaster-relief report, not liturgical governance: his own first-person account of Super Typhoon Odette, dated December 20, 2021, and published by the Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas, describes the cathedral and rectory suffering sizeable damage, two city parish churches with broken glass, blown roofing, and flooding, and Siargao Island and Dinagat province worst hit, with food and water the priority needs. The appeal for relief-party donations printed above his report on the same page is CBCP President Pablo Virgilio David's separate item and is not attributed to Cabajog.

Major Works & Initiatives
First-person Typhoon Odette (Rai) report, December 20, 2021
Cabajog's signed account, written on his way to Butuan City to post it, reports that Odette peaked between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. on December 16, 2021, cutting power and communications, damaging the cathedral and rectory, and hitting Siargao Island and Dinagat province hardest, with food and water the priority needs, and it closes by asking prayers for the Diocese of Surigao. A pastoral disaster report, not a governing act.
