The Life

Eduardo Cirilo Carmona Ortega, C.O.R.C., was born in Mexico City on 18 March 1959, and was ordained a priest on 20 August 1983, incardinated in the Priestly Fraternity of the Workers of the Kingdom of Christ (C.O.R.C.); the Holy See bulletins, Zenit, and the CEM directorio agree on all three dates, and the roster born date agrees. He carried out his ecclesiastical studies in the seminary of the Workers of the Kingdom of Christ in Querétaro and in the major seminary of Toledo, Spain, and obtained a licentiate in dogmatic theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome. SPELLING: bulletins, Zenit, and CEM print C.O.R.C.; the English Wikipedia Puerto Escondido list prints O.R.C. C.O.R.C. governs.

He was appointed the first bishop of Puerto Escondido on 8 November 2003, the day the diocese was erected, and was consecrated bishop on 7 January 2004 FOR Puerto Escondido, so the tenure codes from consecration under the first-see rule. He was transferred to Parral on 27 June 2012, the appointment date, and installed at Parral on 25 July 2012, the possession date, so the Puerto Escondido tenure closes at the possession and the Parral tenure opens at the possession. He was still Bishop of Córdoba at as_of: he turned 67 on 18 March 2026, and no resignation acceptance or successor news surfaced. In the CEM he was checked against the Prot. 314/24 comunicado for the triennium 2024-2027 and is NOT listed there, checked-and-absent from that document, not no commission ever. As Bishop of Puerto Escondido he opposed the Paso de la Reina dam on the Río Verde in 2009, speaking at a press conference in Oaxaca city on 4 February 2009; that is pastoral advocacy, bio prose only, never a controversy and never a Traditionis custodes act.

The Old Mass, See by See
Córdoba2020-07-04 – presentNo act of his own
What he inheritedOpen tenure running from July 2020 through the whole Traditionis custodes window; no governing act of his own concerning the 1962 Missal was found for it through as_of, and no statement of his concerning communion with the Society of St. Pius X after the Holy See's 2 July 2026 schism declaration was found. Predecessor Patino Leal retired 4 July 2020, before the TC window, so there are no predecessor TC acts to inherit, and no CEM collective act is attributed to him.
Since the SSPX decree of 2 July 2026: No statement recorded as of 2026-10-28.

Bishop of Puerto Escondido opposes Paso de la Reina dam, 6 February 2009 — Narco News (Nancy Davies) · 2009ADVOCACY OUTLET, BIO COLOR + BANKED QUOTE ONLY. Press conference, Oaxaca city, 4 February 2009: as Bishop of Puerto Escondido he opposed the dam, said the diocese would resist the project; article places him 'based in the city of Putla de Guerrero' and counts 29 parishes / 32 priests. BANKED, NOT SHIPPED: one 11-word reported fragment ('it is not viable for the peoples native to the region') - reported direct speech in an advocacy outlet, thin, adds nothing the dossier needs; NOT parent-recounted, because recount is owed only for shipped fragments, and it must be recounted from the opened page before any future shipment.
