Efraín Mendoza Cruz
Efraín Mendoza Cruz was born in Tlalnepantla on 24 November 1959, the third of ten children of Melitón Mendoza Hernández and Teresa Cruz Moreno. His formation, as the Spanish Wikipedia archdiocesan bio gives it, ran from primary school at Escuela Primaria 20 de Noviembre 1965 to 1971, through the Seminario Menor de Tlalnepantla, printed 191-1973 and evidently 1971 to 1973, preparatory studies at Instituto Zaragoza, Atizapán de Zaragoza, 1974 to 1978, the Curso Introductorio at the Seminario de Tlalnepantla 1979 to 1980, philosophy at the Seminario Conciliar de Toluca 1980 to 1981 and the Seminario de Guadalajara 1981 to 1983, and theology at the Seminario Interdiocesano Guadalupano 1983 to 1988, with a diplomado in Pastoral Social from IMDOSOC and a diplomado in Catechesis from ITEPAL. He was ordained deacon on 12 October 1987 and priest on 18 October 1988, both by Manuel Pérez-Gil, at the Santuario Diocesano San Felipe de Jesús. The 18 October 1988 date governs: the CEM directorio entry for him, GCatholic, and Spanish Wikipedia all give October, against the English 2022 bulletin, which prints 18 February 1988 in a curriculum vitae demonstrably sloppy in the same passage, with 4 Jule 2011 for June, archdiocese of Tlalnepantla for 1988, when Tlalnepantla was still a diocese until June 1989, and a garbled 2018 office. The Italian Bollettino of 9 November 2022 was not opened and would settle the month definitively, but three agreeing sources already carry the ruling.
His dated priestly offices, Wikipedia tier from the archdiocesan bio and a Facebook bio it cites, were prefect of discipline at the Seminario Menor 1988 to 1991; adviser to second-year philosophy students at the Seminario Interdiocesano Guadalupano 1991 to 1992; parish priest and dean at San Isidro Labrador, Ignacio Allende, Huixquilucan, 1992 to 1997; parish priest at María Auxiliadora, Atizapán de Zaragoza, 1997 to 2005; diocesan and regional coordinator of Pastoral Profética 1997 to 2009; parish priest of Señor del Perdón and episcopal vicar of the III Zona Pastoral, Ahuizotla, Naucalpan, 2005 to 2010; and rector of the Seminario Mayor de Tlalnepantla 2010 to 2011. The bulletin offices, undated, were seminary formator, parish priest in various parishes, coordinator of diocesan prophetic pastoral ministry and of the ecclesiastical province, episcopal vicar of the III Pastoral Zone of Tlalnepantla, and rector of the major seminary. His 2018 conference office is flagged, not merged: Spanish Wikipedia gives Suplente del Consejo Permanente por la Provincia de Tlalnepantla 2018 to 2024, against the bulletin's garbled elected for a three-year term as Commission of the Episcopal Conference for the Pontifical University, which may be a different office or one garbled rendering. He was appointed titular bishop of Cubda and auxiliary bishop of Tlalnepantla on 4 June 2011 and was consecrated bishop on 27 July 2011 by Carlos Aguiar Retes, then Archbishop of Tlalnepantla, as the archdiocesan identidad page states, de manos de, with Spanish Wikipedia agreeing; his co-consecrators and the consecration venue are unestablished, and the Tlalnepantla cathedral is not inferred as venue. The Spanish Wikipedia infobox auxiliary range of 9 July 2013 to 9 November 2022 is rejected: unexplained and uncorroborated anywhere, against the article body, the 2011 bulletin citation, the archdiocesan identidad, CEM, and GCatholic, which all agree on appointment 4 June 2011 and ordination 27 July 2011. He was appointed bishop of Cuautitlán on 9 November 2022 and took possession on 17 January 2023; he is the third bishop of Cuautitlán, after Manuel Samaniego Barriga 1979 to 2005, who died 26 June 2005, and Guillermo Rodrigo Teodoro Ortiz Mondragón, appointed 19 October 2005, possession 23 November 2005, who died 14 September 2021, GCatholic's fuller name governing over Wikipedia's Guillermo Ortiz Mondragón.
The diocese of Cuautitlán was erected on 5 February 1979 by the bull Conferentia Episcopalis Mexicana, from Texcoco and Tlalnepantla, suffragan of Mexico originally and of the Tlalnepantla province from 17 June 1989, ceding territory to Atlacomulco on 3 November 1984 and to Izcalli on 9 June 2014; the diocese article infobox date of 25 April 1979 is the elevation of San Buenaventura to cathedral rank, not the erection. Cuautitlán is not Cuautitlán Izcalli: the see and cathedral are in Cuautitlán, at San Buenaventura, while Cuautitlán Izcalli is a separate municipality and diocese erected in 2014 from Cuautitlán territory, and the CEM directorio curia address block printing Cuautitlán Izcalli is a postal quirk. No work of his own was found: the Slideshare CEM education deck is a collective document, not his work, and his installation homily exists only as a cathedral YouTube chronicle video with no transcript. No verified fragment of his own words was found: the Vida Nueva 1 November 2025 missing-priest appeal is snippet only and is not quoted here, and the underlying event, a Cuautitlán priest murdered in late October 2025, is a crime against his priest, never a controversy entry.
