Francisco Javier Martínez Castillo
Francisco Javier Martínez Castillo was born on 22 November 1974, was ordained a deacon on 10 January 2004, and was ordained a priest on 25 June 2004, incardinated in the archdiocese of Puebla de los Ángeles. He obtained a licentiate in moral theology from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome. As a priest he was a parish vicar, vice rector of the Cathedral Church, professor in the diocesan seminary, and director of the Centre for the Divine Mercy Diffusion Centre; at his episcopal appointment he was parish priest of Our Lady of Guadalupe, official spokesperson of the archdiocese of Puebla, and spiritual assistant of the Cursillos de Cristiandad. He is diocesan clergy of Puebla de los Ángeles; he has no religious congregation and no post-nominal initials. His birthplace is NOT established: neither bulletin states one, and an astrology page printing 'Puebla City' is disregarded per the Palma Capetillo precedent, the same self-discrediting source class.
On 16 October 2023 he was appointed auxiliary bishop of Puebla de los Ángeles, being assigned the titular see of Nepte, and he was a priest at appointment, the Italian bulletin calling him 'il Rev.do', so he was consecrated bishop on 4 January 2024 and the tenure codes from consecration under the auxiliary-start rule, roster-exact. He has been auxiliary bishop of Puebla continuously since, under Archbishop Víctor Sánchez Espinosa, alongside fellow auxiliary Tomás López Durán, and he was active as auxiliary in January 2025, presiding over the Don Bosco feast and the consecration of the altar of the Mary Help of Christians Social House in Puebla on 31 January 2025, per InfoANS, reported paraphrase only. He was still auxiliary at as_of on Catholic-Hierarchy live listings, with no transfer, resignation, or successor news. In the CEM he was checked against the Prot. 314/24 comunicado for the triennium 2024-2027 and is NOT listed there, checked-and-absent from that document, not no commission ever; and his absence from the June 2023 directorio is expected and chronological, he having been appointed four months after that edition.
