The Life

Héctor Luis Morales Sánchez was born on 12 September 1954 and was ordained a priest on 17 January 1979, a priest of Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosí. He was appointed Prelate of Huautla, Oaxaca, on 15 October 2005 and consecrated bishop on 17 January 2006; he was a priest when appointed and was consecrated for Huautla, so the Huautla tenure codes from consecration under the first-see rule. No separate Huautla installation was found, and the Huautla consecrator and venue are unestablished. His Huautla predecessor was Hermenegildo Ramírez Sánchez, M.J., and his Huautla successor was José Armando Álvarez Cano; neither man's acts are his. The worker's title form 'Bishop-Prelate of Huautla' is not used: the Mexico corpus precedent, Sáinz Márquez at Jesús María del Nayar, Huerta Muro at El Salto, and Álvarez Cano at Huautla itself, is 'Prelate of X,' capacity ordinary, and that form governs here.

He was appointed bishop of Netzahualcóyotl on 7 January 2011 and, on 7 March 2011, made his first entry into the territory, was welcomed, and celebrated Mass, accompanied by Nuncio Christophe Pierre; he succeeded Carlos Garfias Merlos, named Archbishop of Acapulco the previous July. The 7 March 2011 possession date is carried from the single local-press source, MVT, which never uses possession wording and describes the cathedral Mass prospectively; it is flagged as single-source local press, and a diocesan-primary possession report is still owed, the dossier's weakest link. The diocese, as MVT describes it, comprises Neza, Los Reyes La Paz, and Ixtapaluca. No successor is recorded through as_of, and no auxiliary, coadjutor, or administrator tenure of his was found. The roster and Catholic-Hierarchy form is Netzahualcóyotl, with tz; MVT, CEM, and GCatholic use Nezahualcóyotl, and the variant is recorded in the reference note, the roster form governing the filename and the see string.

In the Traditionis custodes window his record shows pastoral ministry, not liturgical governance: a diocesan statement of 6 July 2017 on the murder of Fr. Luis López Villa, pastor of San Isidro Labrador, Los Reyes La Paz, is rendered by Catholic News Service, the original diocesan text not opened, and the murder is a crime against his priest, never a controversy of his; and a pastoral visit on 11 February 2026 to the Cinco Panes y Dos Peces Franciscan Center is background only. No book or signed pastoral letter with a bibliographic anchor was found, a diocesan pastoral-letter archive check is still owed, and no motto string was found in any tier; nothing is held and nothing is asserted.

Netzahualcóyotl2011-03-07 – presentNo act of his own
What he inheritedOpen tenure spanning the Traditionis custodes window; no governing act of his own concerning the 1962 Missal was found for it through as_of, and no statement of his concerning communion with the Society of St. Pius X after the Holy See's 2 July 2026 schism declaration was found. Predecessors' acts and CEM collective acts are background only, never his.
