Jorge Carlos Patrón Wong
Jorge Carlos Patrón Wong was born on 3 January 1958 in Mérida, Yucatán, and was ordained a priest on 12 January 1988 for the archdiocese of Yucatán; the Holy See bulletin and the CEM directorio agree on all three dates, and the roster born date agrees. He studied philosophy and theology at the Seminary of Yucatán, and took licentiates in spiritual theology and psychology at the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome. His priestly offices, as the bulletin gives them, were parish vicar, professor, spiritual adviser, chaplain, coordinator of the 'Media and Communication' Commission, and formator and rector of the Seminary of Yucatán; he was president of OSMEX (Organization of Mexican Seminaries) and president of OSLAM (Latin American Organization of Seminaries). He is diocesan clergy of Yucatán, with no religious congregation and no post-nominal initials.
On 2 May 2012 he succeeded Lorenzo Cárdenas Aregullín as Bishop of Papantla, and on 21 September 2013 he was appointed secretary for seminaries at the Congregation for the Clergy, elevated at the same time to the dignity of Archbishop by personal title; the Vatican bulletin governs that office description, not Catholic-Hierarchy's 'Official of the Congregation for the Clergy.' The 2013-2021 curial secretaryship is an office, not a see, and NO titular see is named in any opened source, so none is coded and none is invented. He was appointed Archbishop of Jalapa on 8 December 2021 and took possession on 8 February 2022, the same day José Trinidad Zapata Ortiz ceased as apostolic administrator of Jalapa after the vacancy that followed the death in office of Hipólito Reyes Larios (Wikipedia-tier date, 8 August 2021). He was still Archbishop of Jalapa at as_of. On 21 September 2026 he was appointed Archbishop of Puebla de los Ángeles, with an announced possession of 19 November 2026 that rests on a bare aggregator (Particle News, naming no publisher of record) and is NOT publisher-confirmed, so NO Puebla tenure is coded at as_of; when it lands and is publisher-confirmed, Jalapa closes at the possession and Puebla opens at the possession. In the CEM he was chair of the Episcopal Commission for Vocations and Ministries, a member of the CELAM Department of Vocations and Ministries, and, for the triennium 2024-2027, Presidente de la C.E. para Vocaciones y Ministerios (Prot. 314/24); conference offices are background only, never tenures. He is currently coordinator of the Council of Cebitepal (CELAM).
His motto is HELD ONLY, never asserted: 'Fiat voluntas tua,' carrier the English Wikipedia infobox slot only, with no non-Wikipedia carrier found and no GCatholic motto-slot check possible (no verbatim GCatholic URL surfaced, none constructed).
