The Life

Jose Ramirez Rapadas III was born on July 12, 1972, in Tondo, Manila, and raised in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. He studied at St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Cagayan de Oro and earned his licentiate in dogmatic theology at the Loyola School of Theology, Ateneo de Manila University, in 2007, with the thesis 'Participatory Church at the Grassroots: Towards a Renewed Transformative Political Praxis'. He was ordained a priest in 1999; the year is confirmed by the Loyola School of Theology, the Philippine News Agency, and the Manila Bulletin, which all give 1999 only, while the day, May 19, 1999, and the ordaining bishop, Antonio Ledesma, are Wikipedia-infobox-only, citing Catholic-Hierarchy, and are not shipped. His posts, per the Loyola School of Theology, the Philippine News Agency, and the Manila Bulletin: parish vicar; coordinator of the diocesan social pastoral ministry; seminary professor; director of the Office of Catechesis for the Family and Life; rector of Saint Joseph College Seminary; professor of religious studies at the University of Zamboanga; and Vicar General of Ipil. The Diocese of Iligan counts about one million Catholics in 26 parishes.

On June 13, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Iligan, announced in Rome at noon, 6 p.m. in Manila; he is the fifth bishop of Iligan, succeeding Elenito Galido, who died December 5, 2017, with Caermare of Dipolog administering the vacancy. He was ordained a bishop on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, in Ipil, and installed on September 5, 2019, with Ozamiz Archbishop Martin Jumoad leading the installation rites, Nuncio Gabriele Giordano Caccia, 20 bishops, and about 200 priests expected. His ordination principal, Julius Tonel, is Wikipedia-only and is not shipped. His motto, 'Quia audit servus tuus', from 1 Samuel 3:9, is Wikipedia-only and is not shipped.

In the window, no governing act of his own concerning the 1962 Missal was found. His window record is public witness and preaching, not liturgical governance: on November 30, 2025, he led the Church-organized rally at the Iligan City plaza in the second Trillion Peso March, praying the Prayer of Hope from which two fragments ship, while the 62-word transformation passage in the same prayer is not shipped, since 62 words alone exceed the cap; and on October 22, 2026, the second day of the October 21-24 Mindanao-Sulu Pastoral Conference Youth Congress in Davao, themed 'Mindanaoan Youth: Rooted in Love, Rising for Mission', with 22 ecclesiastical territories, he preached on the fire burning in the young ministers, from which two fragments ship. His appointment response of June 2019, given to Radio Veritas before the window, ships with dated context: two fragments totaling exactly 50 words, while a third 9-word fragment is not shipped with them, since all three total 59 words. The 18th Mindanao-Sulu Pastoral Conference Statement of October 24, 2025, is a collective statement of 314 delegates, not his individual act, and is not entered as a work.

Trillion Peso March II rally, Iligan City plaza, November 30, 2025
Rapadas led the Church-organized rally at the Iligan City plaza in the second Trillion Peso March, spearheaded by the Catholic Church against corruption in public infrastructure projects, praying the Prayer of Hope; civil society held a separate rally beside the old Iligan City Post Office under the banner Iliganon Batok Korapsyon, and police guarded the Department of Public Works and Highways office on Seminary Drive in Barangay Pala-o. A public witness act, not a Traditionis custodes act.
Homily at the Mindanao-Sulu Pastoral Conference Youth Congress 2026, Davao, October 22, 2026
On the second day of the October 21-24 congress, themed 'Mindanaoan Youth: Rooted in Love, Rising for Mission', with 22 ecclesiastical territories, Rapadas preached to youth ministers on examining the motive behind their service, asking what kind of fire burns in them.
