Luis Alfonso Tut Tun
Luis Alfonso Tut Tun was born on 22 June 1978 in Acanceh, in the archdiocese of Yucatán, entered the San Ildefonso de Toledo y Nuestra Señora del Rosario Major Seminary, and was ordained a priest on 31 July 2006, incardinated in Yucatán. He obtained a licentiate in sacramental dogmatic theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum of Saint Anselm in Rome. As a priest he was parish vicar of Santo Niño de Atocha, seminary teacher, chaplain of the Institute of the Daughters of Saint Joséph, official of the Dicastery for Bishops in the Roman Curia from 1 June 2009 to 2022, and parish priest of Santa Inés in Akil from 19 August 2022. On 21 June 2024 the Holy See appointed him auxiliary bishop of Antequera, assigning him the titular see of Arba, and he was ordained bishop on 22 August 2024, so the tenure codes from consecration. He was still auxiliary bishop of Antequera at as_of, aged 48. The Dicastery for Bishops post was a priestly curial office, never an episcopal tenure, and it is not coded as one.
He is diocesan clergy of Yucatán, appointed cross-province; he has no religious congregation and no post-nominal initials. The spelling 'Tut Tun' of the roster and the bulletin governs, and Vida Nueva's and es.wikipedia's 'Tut Tún' is a variant, not merged. He was checked against the June 2023 CEM directorio and is NOT listed there, checked-and-absent, expected chronologically since he was appointed in June 2024, after that edition; he was likewise checked against the Prot. 314/24 comunicado for the triennium 2024-2027 and is NOT listed there, checked-and-absent from that document.
