The Life

Luis Manuel Pérez Raygoza was born on 21 August 1973 in Mexico City, in the archdiocese of Mexico, and was ordained a priest on 13 May 2000 for the archdiocese of Mexico; the Holy See bulletin, the CEM directorio and GCatholic agree on all three dates, and the roster born date agrees. He entered the Conciliar Seminary of Mexico at age 19. His formation, at English Wikipedia tier, was secondary school at the Colegio de Ciencias y Humanidades Plantel Sur, Coyoacan, then the minor seminary, then the Seminario Conciliar de Mexico, Tlalpan, completing his studies at the archdiocesan Institute of Priestly Formation (now Universidad Catolica Lumen Gentium); he was the oldest of four children of Hermilo Perez Trejo and Rosalina Raygoza Sanchez, and was ordained deacon on 1 June 1999 at Wikipedia tier. He spent two years in the Conciliar Seminary and in the Minor Seminary as head of discipline, began studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in 2002 and was awarded a licentiate in spiritual theology, the bulletin not pinning the degree year, and in 2004 became prefect of discipline of the Conciliar Seminary; from 2007 to 2019 he coordinated the spirituality area in the seminary, from 2007 to 2012 he was a member of the college of consultors and of the presbyteral council, from 2015 to 2019 he headed the diocesan Commission for the Causes of Saints, since 2017 he has been canon and secretary of the Cathedral (Metropolitan) Chapter, and since 2019 parish priest of San Jacinto and episcopal vicar of the 'Beato Miguel Agustin Pro' vicariate, the last being appointment-era only. His priestly ordainer and his diaconate ordainer are not established and are left blank, and his current vicariate assignment is not established, the archdiocese having restructured vicariates since 2020, so the 2019 vicariate is never carried forward as current. He is diocesan clergy of Mexico, with no religious congregation and no post-nominal initials; the bulletin calls him 'of the clergy of the same archdiocese.'

He was appointed auxiliary bishop of Mexico on 25 January 2020, with the titular see of Suava, together with Héctor Mario Pérez Villarreal (titular Bennefa) and Francisco Daniel Rivera Sanchez, M.Sp.S. (titular Aradi), and was consecrated bishop on 19 March 2020; under the auxiliary-start rule the tenure codes from consecration, never from the appointment, and no separate installation followed, none being expected for an auxiliary. A pre-consecration archdiocesan announcement said the ordination would take place on 19 March in the Basilica of Guadalupe; no post-ceremony report was opened, so the Basilica stands as the PLANNED venue only and is never asserted as the actual venue. He was still auxiliary bishop of Mexico at as_of: GCatholic's Bishops Consecrated in 2020 page lists him as current, while co-appointee Rivera Sanchez on the same page is marked 'former.' No book or signed pastoral letter with a bibliographic anchor was found, and no clean verbatim fragment of his own words from an opened page was found, so works and quotes stand empty deliberately; the Agenzia Fides 27 March 2023 piece reports a Desde la Fe editorial on domestic violence and says the weekly quotes him, but the article itself gives only a paraphrase of his invitation, and its quoted passages are the editorial's, not his, so nothing ships from Fides, and the original Desde la Fe March 2023 editorial was not located.

Peace cannot be built because of domestic violence and the disintegration of the social fabric — Agenzia Fides · 2023PRESS, PARAPHRASE ONLY, NOT A QUOTE SOURCE. 27 March 2023: reports a Desde la Fe editorial on domestic violence and says the weekly quotes him, but the article itself gives only a paraphrase of his invitation (care for families, denounce, strengthen education, demand justice, respect rights, attend to victims). The original Desde la Fe March 2023 editorial was not located; a quotes second pass is still owed before quotes [] is called final, but [] on current evidence. Worker-opened in full October 2026.
