Manuel González Villaseñor
Manuel González Villaseñor was born on 16 December 1963 in Guadalajara. He entered the major seminary of Guadalajara and was ordained a priest on 19 May 1991, incardinated in the metropolitan archdiocese of Guadalajara. As a priest he served as parochial vicar of various parishes, chaplain of the Colegio Marista Cervantes Bosque, parish priest and episcopal vicar of the North Periphery, and most recently before his episcopal appointment as parish priest of San Francisco Javier de las Colinas. No degree, licentiate, or other academic credential is stated for him in the Holy See bulletin curriculum, and neither the place of his priestly ordination nor his ordaining bishop is stated there.
Pope Francis appointed him titular bishop of Ploaghe and auxiliary bishop of Guadalajara on 27 November 2020, jointly with Eduardo Muñoz Ochoa (titular Satafis). He was consecrated on 22 February 2021; that date rests on two agreeing spine sources (GCatholic and Catholic-Hierarchy), as no bulletin or diocesan-primary consecration source was found, and no distinct possession ceremony as auxiliary was established. Catholic-Hierarchy's individual page renders an episcopal lineage headed by Cardinal José Francisco Robles Ortega, consistent with Robles Ortega as principal consecrator, but the rendering does not label him principal and lists no co-consecrators, so the consecrators are not established beyond that lineage indication, and the consecration venue is not established. He remains auxiliary bishop of Guadalajara at as_of, serving under Cardinal Robles Ortega. No CEM commission, diocesan vicariate as bishop, or other episcopal office specifically his was established in the opened sources.
