The Life

Pedro Vázquez Villalobos was born on 16 September 1950 in Huisquilco, Jalisco, now in the diocese of San Juan de los Lagos, and was ordained a priest on 15 April 1975. He was pastor of San Agustín Tototlán from 1990 to 1996 and of Santa María de Guadalupe Arandas from 1996 to 2010, coordinator of the Fraternity, vicar general since 2010, and a member of the presbyteral council and the college of consultors. On 31 October 2012 he was appointed Bishop of Puerto Escondido, and he was consecrated bishop on 30 January 2013 for that see, so the Puerto Escondido tenure codes from consecration. On 10 February 2018 he was appointed Archbishop of Antequera, and he was installed and took possession of Antequera on 25 April 2018, roster-exact. Sacerdotal: 15 de abril de 1979'; the dossier codes 15 April 1975 on both bulletins, English and Spanish, so the CEM year reads as a typo, the same class of slip as the CEM's Calzada 2012 slip, flagged here and in the reference note, never silently resolved.

He was still Metropolitan Archbishop of Antequera at as_of: he turned 76 on 16 September 2026, and his homily for the XXVII Sunday in Ordinary Time, delivered in Oaxaca Cathedral on 4 October 2026, is both a work and the 2026 currency anchor. In the CEM he is listed in the June 2023 directorio in entry 17; at February 2018 he held the bishops-emeritus Dimension responsibility, appointment-era only, and he was checked against the Prot. 314/24 comunicado for the triennium 2024-2027 and is NOT listed there, checked-and-absent from that document: the 2024-2027 bishops-emeritus Dimension belongs to Sandoval Sandoval, not to him.
