Raúl Gómez González
Raúl Gómez González was born on 17 February 1954 at Capilla de Guadalupe, Jalisco, the son of Andrés Gómez Barajas and Luz María González González; the Spanish Wikipedia infobox shortens his mother's name to 'Luz María González,' and the fuller body form governs here, the variant footnoted. He was ordained deacon on 7 May 1982 and priest on 23 April 1983, both in the San Juan de los Lagos cathedral by José López Lara, and was incardinated into San Juan de los Lagos. His priestly offices were parish vicar of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, Santa María del Valle, from 1983 to 1985; parish vicar of the Sagrada Familia, Tepatitlán, from 1989 to 1995; parish priest of San Miguel Arcángel, San Miguel el Alto, from 1995 to 2004; parish priest of San Juan Bautista, San Juan de los Lagos, from 2004 to 2008; professor of Moral Theology in the major seminary from 1989 to 2008; advisor roles in the Formation of Agents and Laity Vicariate and in Liturgical Music from 1989 to 2008; member of the College of Consultors, the Presbyteral Council, and the Economic Affairs Council; and Vicar General of San Juan de los Lagos from 2008 until his episcopal consecration in January 2010, the AD Noticias and ZENIT evidence governing over the Spanish Wikipedia end date of September 2009, which ZENIT refutes by having him Vicar General 'hasta ahora' at his November 2009 appointment, the start month left unpinned between the May and June variants.
On 26 November 2009 Pope Benedict XVI erected the Diocese of Tenancingo from Toluca, as a suffragan of Mexico, and named Gómez González its first bishop. He was consecrated bishop on 25 January 2010 in the Basílica Catedral de San Clemente by Nuncio Christophe Pierre, with Norberto Rivera Carrera and Francisco Robles Ortega as co-consecrators, on the Spanish Wikipedia account, which is CH-sourced and flagged at that tier; no separate Tenancingo installation distinct from the consecration was found, and the consecration took place in the cathedral itself, so the tenure codes from consecration under the first-see rule, flagged as installation-not-separately-established. At erection the diocese counted 2,896 square kilometres, 350,406 inhabitants, 332,829 Catholics, 28 parishes, 47 diocesan and 18 religious priests, 86 religious, and 12 major seminarians. His conference offices, background only and riding on the Spanish Wikipedia tier, were the Pontifical University of Mexico Commission from 2012 to 2015, the Permanent Council for the Province of Mexico from 2018 to 2019 and the Province of Toluca from 2019 to 2021, and responsibility for the Episcopal Dimension of Liturgical Music from 2018 to 2021 and the 2021 to 2024 triennium; a conference office about liturgical music generally is not, without more, a 1962-Missal governing act, and none is coded as one. On 19 March 2022, with the resignation of Francisco Javier Chavolla Ramos accepted, he was appointed second Archbishop of Toluca, and he took canonical possession on 19 May 2022, receiving the crozier and the episcopal chair during a Mass in the Catedral de Toluca, with Chavolla welcoming him. The possession carries a tier flag: the roster source, DigitalMex, is a same-day ceremony report, not a pre-event item, and the Spanish Wikipedia independently states the 19 May canonical possession, but no diocesan, CEM, ACI Prensa, or Vatican News possession report surfaced, and a diocesan-primary report is still owed, the dossier's weakest link. The governor's embedded tweet calling the ceremony an ordination is a misnomer, never repeated here: he was consecrated in 2010, and the 2022 ceremony was an installation and possession. The Toluca cathedral is not asserted as San José: the saludo letter's dateline 'Toluca de San José' is the city, not the cathedral name, and no opened source ties the ceremony to a San José venue. His Tenancingo successor, Víctor Carabés Chávez, is background only; his appointment date does not close Gómez's tenure.
The Latin form is not shipped as if the diocesan page printed it, and the Spanish form is not shipped as if it were the heraldic Latin motto, without this note. No book or signed pastoral letter with a bibliographic anchor was found, and no clean verbatim fragment of his own words was found in any opened page: DigitalMex quotes Chavolla's welcome words, not his, and the governor's tweet is not his, so quotes stand empty deliberately, and a possession-homily text or signed pastoral letter remains a future-pass lead.
