Roberto Yenny García
Roberto Yenny García was born in Mexico City on 8 February 1972, and was ordained a priest on 19 March 1996, incardinated into the diocese of Tampico. His degrees, as the Holy See bulletin gives them, are a doctorate in philosophy from the IEST Anáhuac, a doctorate in moral theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, a master's in family therapy from the University of Tamaulipas, and a master's in counselling from the Catholic University of Valencia. The Anáhuac alumni page gives a licentiate in Moral Theology from the Alphonsian Academy in Rome instead of the Gregorian doctorate; the bulletin governs, the Anáhuac variant is footnoted, and the two are not merged. His bulletin offices were prefect of the Tampico minor seminary, parish vicar, spiritual director of the major seminary, parish priest in two parishes, and rector of the Conciliar Seminary of Tampico, and since 2019 he has been executive secretary for institutional relations of the Mexican Episcopal Conference. The Anáhuac page, which predates his episcopate and still styles him rector of the Tampico Conciliar Seminary, adds pre-episcopal roles: prison pastoral adviser, coordinator of the Commission for Permanent Formation of the Clergy, youth and vocational pastoral agent, ethics, bioethics, and moral theology professor, family and couple therapist at Casa de la Familia in Tampico, and bioethics committee member at Hospital CEMAIN.
He was appointed bishop of Ciudad Valles on 19 March 2020, on the resignation of his predecessor Roberto Octavio Balmori Cinta, M.J., and was consecrated bishop on 17 June 2020, the date the CEM directorio entry for him gives; he is the VII Bishop of Ciudad Valles. He was a priest of Tampico until appointment, holding no prior episcopal office, and no distinct installation or toma de posesión date was found in any openable source, so the tenure codes from consecration and the 19 March 2020 appointment date is not substituted for it. His consecrator and consecration venue are unestablished: Catholic-Hierarchy renders only a lineage section, whose head is Archbishop Rogelio Cabrera López, and a lineage head is not labelled principal consecrator, nor is the metropolitan of San Luis Potosí inferred as principal. In the 2024-2027 triennium he is responsible for the Episcopal Dimension of Pastoral de la Salud, Health Pastoral, under the Episcopal Commission for Social Pastoral, and the CEM commissions list identifies him as First Vocal of the CEM and second substitute delegate to CELAM; the full Consejo de Presidencia list itself was not opened, so the First Vocal line rests on that list's own label. The diocese of Ciudad Valles was erected on 27 November 1960 by the bull Cum rectus rerum, is suffragan of San Luis Potosí, of Monterrey until 25 November 2006, has its cathedral at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, and ceded territory for Matehuala on 28 May 1997.
The spelling Yenny governs: the bulletin, the CEM directorio, the CEM press release, GCatholic, and Anáhuac all use Yenny, while the Spanish Wikipedia diocese article body uses Yenni, a variant only, and its line Desde el 19 de marzo de 2020 su obispo es Roberto Yenni García and its episcopologio entry 2020 to present are appointment-date displays, rejected for tenure coding. No work of his own was found: the Monterrey XII Carta Pastoral found in search is Cabrera López's, not his, and his CEM roles are conference offices, never works. No verified fragment of his own words was found: the only recent homily report, Radio XHCV of 26 October 2026, is paraphrase throughout, so quotes remain empty deliberately. No motto was found, and none is held: no motto slot was located anywhere, and the GCatholic Ciudad Valles diocese page is bot-blocked and is not cited.
