Ronald Anthony Parco Timoner
Ronald Anthony Parco Timoner was born on August 13, 1971, in Daet, Camarines Norte; the Angelicum curriculum vitae and the roster agree. He studied philosophy at the Holy Rosary Minor Seminary in Naga City, the Angelicum curriculum vitae governing over the syndicated 'Holy Rosary Major Seminary', and theology at the University of Santo Tomas Central Seminary in Manila, earning his licentiate in theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Angelicum, in Rome. He was ordained a priest on May 1, 1997, for the Diocese of Daet. The ordaining bishop, Benjamin Almoneda, and the Daet Cathedral venue are Wikipedia-only and are not shipped. His posts, per the Angelicum curriculum vitae: parish vicar of Our Lady of Candelaria, Paracale, in 1997; parish vicar of St. Francis of Assisi, Talisay and of St. Francis of Assisi, Daet, in 1997, the curriculum vitae's post list carrying a garbled duplicated line here, which is not copied verbatim; spiritual director of Holy Trinity College Seminary, Labo, from 1998 to 2000, then prefect of discipline and procurator from 2000 to 2004; chaplain of St. Thomas Church, Milan, from 2004 to 2008; chancellor of Daet from 2008 to 2016; director of the Socio-Pastoral Action Center Foundation since 2015; and parish priest of San Juan Bautista, Daet, since 2017. He served twice as diocesan administrator of Daet while still a priest, both stints bio prose only, never tenures: first from April 2017, after Garcera's transfer to Lipa, until Alarcon was installed in March 2019; then reappointed May 16, 2024, after Alarcon's transfer to Caceres, until Abcede was installed in May 2025. Wikipedia's infobox range of 2023-25 for the second stint is loose; May 16, 2024, governs.
On April 2, 2025, Pope Francis appointed him the sixth Bishop of Pagadian, succeeding Ronald Lunas, who died January 2, 2024, with Archbishop Martin Jumoad of Ozamis as apostolic administrator during the sede vacante. He was consecrated and installed on August 13, 2025, his 54th birthday, at Sto. Nino Cathedral in Pagadian, with Jumoad as principal consecrator and Archbishops Rex Andrew Alarcon of Caceres and Gilbert Garcera of Lipa, both former bishops of Daet, as co-consecrators, and Jumoad led him to the cathedra. Nuncio Charles Brown preached the homily; Brown's words are Brown's, never Timoner's. More than 50 bishops attended, including Brown, Cardinal Jose Advincula of Manila, and Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara, the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines vice president. His older brother, Fr. Gerard Francisco Timoner III, the first Asian Master of the Order of Preachers, was present. His episcopal motto is 'Surge et Ambula', 'Arise and Walk', from Acts 3:6, confirmed by CBCP News via Bicol Mail, and it ships. Contemporary installation reports all say Sto. Nino Cathedral, Pagadian; Wikipedia's Pagadian diocese list says 'Cathedral of the Most Holy Name of Jesus', and the contemporary reports govern, with the variant noted. Wikipedia's claim that he is the last Filipino bishop appointed by Francis to be consecrated and installed is false: Glenn Corsiga of Ipil was appointed about April 14, 2025, and installed August 14, 2025, both later, and the claim is not repeated. The diocese counts more than 1.3 million people, about 80 percent Catholic, in 26 parishes, per CBCP News reporting.
In the window, no governing act of his own concerning the 1962 Missal was found. His window record is installation, preaching, and teaching, not liturgical governance: his installation thanksgiving message of August 13, 2025, ships in the fuller Bicol Mail version of 49 words, while the Radio Veritas Asia version of the same message, 30 words, is not shipped alongside it, since both total 79 words; his homily at the University of Santo Tomas Institutional Mass of January 27, 2026, ships in the single solid-foundation quotation of 27 words, while the redress passage of 26 words and the searched-unceasingly passage of 29 words are not stacked with it, and the 53-word stand-up passage is not shippable whole; and his homily to brother bishops at a Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines seminar, on David's call in 1 Samuel and Samuel's discernment, ships as a set of three fragments totaling 48 words.
