Tomás López Durán
Tomás López Durán was born on 1 January 1961 in Atoyatempan, in the archdiocese of Puebla, and was ordained a priest on 29 June 1991, incardinated in Puebla. He studied in the minor and major Palafoxiano seminary of Puebla and obtained a doctorate in Canon Law at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. As a priest he was discipline assessor of the major Palafoxiano seminary and professor of Canon Law, instructor judge of the Ecclesiastical Tribunal and collaborator in various parishes, and from 2010 Judicial Vicar of first instance of the V Ecclesiastical Tribunal Angelopolitano of Puebla; the Judicial Vicar office is appointment-era only and is never carried forward as a current assignment. He is diocesan clergy of Puebla; he has no religious congregation and no post-nominal initials.
On 6 December 2013 he was appointed auxiliary bishop of Puebla together with Rutilo Felipe Pozos Lorenzini, being assigned the titular see of Socia, and he was consecrated bishop on 3 March 2014, so the tenure codes from consecration under the auxiliary-start rule, never from the appointment. He has been auxiliary bishop of Puebla continuously since, under Archbishop Víctor Sánchez Espinosa, and he was still auxiliary at as_of: he turned 65 on 1 January 2026, and no transfer, resignation, or successor news surfaced. In the CEM he was checked against the Prot. 314/24 comunicado for the triennium 2024-2027 and is NOT listed there, checked-and-absent from that document, not no commission ever.
