The Life
Robert Sarah, a Guinean prelate, was ordained in 1969 and at thirty-four became Archbishop of Conakry — the youngest bishop in the world — leading the Church under the Marxist dictatorship of Sékou Touré. Called to Rome, he was made a cardinal in 2010 and Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship from 2014 to 2021.
A man of deep prayer and contemplative spirit, he has written the best-selling 'God or Nothing' and 'The Power of Silence,' and has been a leading voice for reverent, God-centered worship, including the recovery of celebration ad orientem.
